OK. So for the past year and a half of my weight loss journey, I have been literately driving my self crazy on Google doing hours of research, trying to figure out the sercet to dropping the pounds of fat from my body and transforming myself into the super hero / action figure that I want to become. Although I have made a TON of progress over the past few months their is still a boat load of work that has to be done if I want to look like the plastic version of the New Zealand rugby player, Dougie Howlett, pictured above. I religiously hit the gym 5-6 days per week, do about an hour of cardio (tread mill) each visit to Retro Fitness, along with about another hour or two of weight training, and while I am definitely seeing results, I know that my diet has to be having an effect on my progress, and the fact that the fat around my belly is just so freaking stubborn.
Don't get me wrong I have been eating pretty darn health lately, I have cut out soda completely and switched to water and natural juices, I have switch my white bread for whole wheat bread, replaced burgers and red meat with chicken and white albacore tuna (stored in water NOT oil), and started drinking whey protein shakes with banana and peanut butter once or twice a day. It seems like a pretty healthy diet to me. Especially in comparison to what I have been eating for the past few years and compared to the diet that many of my peers eat. But is my current diet enough? I mean honestly at the end of the day I am not like most of my skinny peers with super fast metabolisms, who can eat what ever they want and not gain a single pound. When I eat junk food, I get fat, and this is a fact I need to deal with and except if I am going to loose the rest of this weight.
So I have decided to start cutting out ALL the carbs even the whole wheat bread because that stuff turns into sugar in your blood anyway and cut the juices and fruits out of my shakes because fruit is sugar too and all this sugar in my blood stream is making my body produce insulin and STOP burning fat!
So it looks like I need to be on a stricter diet if I wanna get that summer body by Christmas. LMFAO.
Problem is after the last two or three days of TRYING to cut the sugar, I have failed and it seems that my body may be still addicted to it. But I have been making progress, the past two failed days I was pretty much able to hold out the entire day without any carbs or sweets.
Day One Diet
Breakfast
Whey Protien with milk and Ice
Lunch
Chicken Salad
Diner After my work out
Tuna mixed in a dash of olive oil mayo and ketchup
2 pieces of Sliced Tomato
Two slices of american cheese
Two slices of whole wheat toast
...................................
All meals were supplemented with plenty of water drank through out the day . . . and I know that I cheated with the whole wheat toast but right after my work out I really felt like I needed some carbs.
By that toast did not provide me wit the sugar fix that I was so desperately craving through out the day.
So before bed time I fixed myself a Whey Protein, Banana and Peanut Butter smoothy . . . . and I know it may SOUND healthy to some but that Banana has ALLOT of sugar loaded into it. Despite the Banana contains NATURAL sugar it is still sugar and it is going to spike my insulin levels and in return make my body STOP burning fat! After a three hour workout?!?!?!
That is no good!
So today I once again tried to cut that carbs and the sugar. Did a little better but still failed.
Breakfast
Almonds and Water
Lunch
Nice big Grilled Chicken Salad with red peppers, avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes ect
Water
Coffee with a splash of milk (no sugar)
After-noon snack
More Almonds
Then After my work out I was so drained that I ordered a whey protein shake from the gym where I work out.
I had my boy put a real banana in it along with some peanut butter and some weight loss multi-vitamin power they have their at the gym.
But I felt so guilty that I didn't finish the whole thing and that sugar rush was kind of making me feel uncomfortable. Hopefully my body is starting to kick the sugar and tomorrow I can start completely detoxing myself from carbs and sugar all together.
Diner After my work out
Tuna mixed in a dash of olive oil mayo and ketchup
This time I decided to dice the Tomato up instead of slicing (primarily because of the fact I WASN'T making a sandwich) and I melted one slice of american cheese into a bowl with the tuna and mixed it all together. It tasted very good and I ate half the bowl when I got home and the rest a few hours later.
I am going to give it another shot tomorrow and hopefully I wont crack towards then end of the day.
This is a GREAT video that explains the whole carbs and sugars vs fat loss and insulin BUT it is a commercial for a product called "Bios Life Slim" which I have never trying and DO NOT ENDORSE! Just eat right and cut out the Carbs and Sugars . . . thier are no magic pills!
